Things around here are crazy
Things have been crazy around here and they have been that way since last Thursday. When Mom and I were going to get our hair done we had a big tire blowout. As we were getting in the turn lane on Bee Ridge (the main road in our town) and then as we got in the lane we felt a big bump and then heard a bang and the tire went flat, actually it looked like someone had cut a big chunk out of it. Mom got the car stopped and asked me if I was ok and I was except I was shaking and concerned about her and what had happened. So I called the hair salon and told them that we weren't going to be able to make the appointment and while I was doing that Mom was trying to get her phone to turn on and she was so upset she couldn't do it so I gave her mine and turned hers on for her and she called Dad to come help us change a tire which in hindsight was not the thing to do. But Dad came and while he was on the way Mom and I were trying to figure out what had happened to make the tire blow like that. At first I thought that maybe she had hit the curb that sticks out a little too far if you don't watch out for it, but I don' t think that she hit that and if she had of then there would of been a lot more damage but the only thing that happened was the 2 tires on the passenger side of the car were blown out, the back one was not totally flat but it was losing air fast and there was no way that we could of gotten home on it. Well, Dad start getting things together to change the tire and he was so short of breath just walking from the truck with a jack to the car that Mom and I both thought that he was going to have a heart attack. It took him almost an hour to change the tire and he was so weak and pale at the end of it that he was going to try and change the other one and put his spare on it but Mom told him that she was going to call AAA and have them tow her to the Tire place to have new tires on, so she calls and while she is on the phone with AAA the sheriff's aide came and told her that she wanted AAA to know that they were there and wanted to know who they are sending and how long it would be before they got there so AAA told Mom who they were sending and the aide said that she would call in 15 minutes to see where the truck was at and how long it would be and in the mean time Dad wanted to take me home and then he would meet Mom at the tire place if she needed him and I didn't want to leave Mom there by herself but she told me to go and she would be fine. So Dad loads me up in the truck and off we go and while we were on our way home he told me that he thought that he was having chest pains and he wanted me home with him just in casse. So we get home and I tell him to tell me what kind of pain he was having and where it was and he said that it felt like he had heartburn and I told him that he needed to take his Nitro pills and he said that he would if it got any worse and thankfully it didn't and we did not have to go to the ER. Mom had gotten to the tire place and gotten her new tires on, and finally made it home around 2 in the afternoon and we started out at 9:30 that morning. Dad said that we must have hit something to cause the tires to go like that but we didn't and there was nothing in the road to hit so the tires must of have bad places in them and Mom said that they guy at the tire store said that the tire on the driver's side back had a bubble in it and it was the next to go. Thankfully we were not on the interstate going 70 mph and had this happen or there could of been a lot worse than 2 tires.
Since that day, dad has done nothing except sit in the chair and watch TV and eat. Mom had asked him to go out to dinner on Friday he didn't want to do that but he did and bitched the whole time. He told Mom that he was sore and stiff and he used muscles that he had not used in a very long time and he was not going to do that again if he could help it and Mom said the next time she would just call AAA first and not call him to do it.
We have had a drought for the last 4 months and needed rain badly and finally got some when the Tropical Storm came up the Gulf and we have needed to have our grass mowed and Dad kept saying that it was too dry to mow and when it rained the other day he said that it was still to dry to mow and he would mow the grass today. He finally did and it took him 4 hours to do it and he has a riding mower and all that he has to do is sit on it and drive and he came up with a lot of excuses to come inside and watch TV instead of doing what he was supposed to do. It starting cloudy up and looking like rain and I told him that it was going to rain he better get the mower put up and he went out and finished it up and it took about 5 minutes for him to do it and it was done. I don't know why he doesn't just do it and get it over with but he puts things off and then it takes longer to do it.. Oh well at least it is done and it looks a lot better.
As for Bobby and I... We are planning on other date this week or weekend so that is what I am looking forward to and will update when we figure out what we are going to do and when.
