Scanning and uploading Pictures

I am in the process of scanning and uploading pictures that I am going to use in some new layouts with the papers from the April KNK Kit and I am going to use the kit from February and March with a few of them. I was reading the Creating Keppesakes website last night and there is a contest for the Scrapbooker of the Year and I had thought about it for about 2 seconds and then changed my mind, there is so many more scrapbookers that are way better than me and I would not even place in the top 100. I look at my layouts and think that they are not worth the paper that they are printed on. There is a lady that lives in Sarasota and has been published in several magazines and I look at her's and they are not very good they look like they were put together by a kindergartener and they are being published and then I think why can't I be published but I guess I need to submit layouts and get on Design Teams and build my scrapresume so that I can be proud of what my hobby is. I love to scrap and make cards and make people smile when they open a handmade card from someone they know. I have made 2 cards this week for 2 ladies that I know and I hope that they like them and they will at least look at them before throwing them away and maybe they wil even keep them like I do, if someone spends the tiem to make me a card then I have a box that they go into and they stay there. I had a card that someone had made me when I was in the 3rd grade and just recently it had gotten thrown in the trash by mistake and I was heartsick about it and wish that I would of scanned it and had it in the computer. That is why I am doing the pictures and the things that I think are important and then I upload them to Shutterfly.com so that they are at least safe if my computer crashes and I lose everything.. I have some pictures of the dog that we had when I was little. He was a Basset Hound and we had him since I was about 5 or 6. I remember when we first got him, Mom saw a ad in the Shopper's Guide for a 6 month old Basset, housebroken and shots so she went to look at hima dn brought him home. He was the biggest puppy that I ever saw and he just kept getting bigger and bigger as he grew up and that was the best dog that I ever had. His name was Zeke and he was my best friend and would listen to me when I would tell him my tales and he would sit and let me do anything that I wanted to and when we would watch TV in the living room I would use him as a pillow until he had to go out and get in the room with Dad. Zeke didn't like to be in the backyard he wanted to be in the front on the rope that he was always on. The rope was about 6 feet long and it had knots in so bad that if you really pulled on it it would snap in two but Zeke would go to the end and stop he wouldn't pull on it and the stake that it was tied to was one of the tomato stake that wasn't in the ground to good and if Zeke pulled hard he would be loose but he never did and that is what is amazing about him. He didn't like people to walk up the driveway un less he knew them. We used to have the Charlie Chip man come deliver potato chips every Saturday and he usually would give Zeke a handful of cookies or chips and on this day he was in a hurry and forgot and Zeke chased him back in his truck, and he had to yell fro Dad to come out and get Zeke to let him up the driveway to deliver the chips. It was funny though. Zeke would go with us when we would go for bike rides and roller skates and skateboards, we got a rope and tied Zeke to it and have him pull us around the block, he would do good until his nose would pick up a scent and he was gone with us in tow and dragging us until we got big enough to stop him from pulling us. Tjhe Basset that I have now is a female and she is so lazy she won't jump up on my bed I have to lift her rearend to help her up unless hse knows that I have something to eat tehn she wil jump up there but not very often. She has her own recliner in the living room. She used to be allowed on the furniture but she would get really happy and dig on the couch and Mom stopped that she is only allowed in the recliner. Noone else sits in there anyway and that is where Boots sleeps. She is allowed on my bed and that is it as for the beds, Mom got a new comforter and that stopped Boots form getting on the bed after that but since Mom got a new featherbed it is so high for Boots sort little legs to get up there. I got a new featherbed too and that is why she has a hard time jumping up on my bed. I am going to do a few pages of the pictures of both Boots and Zeke to see the difference between them which is a big difference.
Thank you for reading my blog!!! Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shopping day

Today was shopping day, and of course I am waiting on the folks to get ready and go and that is not going to be for a while. I am ready to go except for my purse, cup and shoes oh and putting the feet on my chair, but Mom always tell me the minute that they are ready to go and except me to roll and go but there are things that I have to do before I am ready to get in the car to go. And Mom knows this and then they are standing at the door waiting on me to come on and then Dad is getting mad and then Mom is off to either go smoke or watch TV then I am waiting on them again. It makes me so mad and they think that it is funny to keep me waiting and then when I do it to them they get mad and then the rest of the day is ruined. Dad is the most impatient person that is on the face of the earth and he gets upset at the littlest thing and then he pouts and huffs and puffs and mumbles under his breath. He has a way about him that you know when he is aggravated and he makes others around him miserble too and the old saying that says "if Momma isn't happy nobody's happy" but it is "If Daddy is happy then nobody's going to be happy!" and that is so true, if he doesn't want to go somewhere then we dn' go and if he wants to go then we go and have to leave when he says and if we don't then he starts his sighing and hiffing and then he starts to fidget in his chair and then says "Are you ready yet?" I have something to watch on TV so hurry up and let's go. It is so aggravting when we go out to dinner and he does that and then Mom tells him to stop and he pouts and makes everyone miserable.
Well Survivor is on and I am going to watch will write more later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cleaning Day!!!

I have been in one of my cleaning moods today! I have cleaned my room and straighten up the scrap corner and dusted and ran the vaccum in my room and the rest of the house and my bathroom. Our vaccum is the bagless type and since we got the dog there is an incredible amount of dog hair even if we vac twice a week. I even give her some treats that help with the shedding of hair and it seems to work until I run the vac and then the canister is full of hair and I have to stop halfway through and empty it and when I am finished I take it outside and use the compressor to blow out the filter and the canister to get all the hair and dirt and fuzz out of it. We are supposed to change the filter each year but we have had the vac since 2004 and haven't had to change it yet, I use the air compressor to blow everything out and it keeps it clean and free of dirt and hair. Dad thinks that I am silly and I shouldn't waste my time doing it and just bang it on the trash can and get the stuff out it, but with all the dust it will take forever to do and it chokes me with dust doing it.
Mom update--------- She went to the Er yesterday and got more medicine and she is alot better today. The welts are fading and going away and there is no new ones popping up as of now and hopefully they won't be anymore and she is over this for good. She looks alot better today and there is no new welts. She told me that she had them in her hair and they were itching so bad and all that she wanted to is cratch them and the more that she scratched the more they itched. Hopefully she will be over this and it doesn't come back again. We still don't know what caused them and we will probably never know why.
Thanks for reading my blog. Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom was back in the ER today

Mom had to go back to the ER this morning. She called our Family Doctor and he is on vacation this week and she was not going to see the Nurse Practioner because she had never seen her and the Nurse works with the other doctor's in the office and not the one that we see so she wants to see a doctor that she knows and has seen her before so off to the ER they go . They left here at 10:45 and they just got home at 3:57. On Friday, she was there about 3 hours but most of the time she was sleeping. This time she said that the ER was packed and when they left it was still packed. So she got to see the same doctor that she had seen on Friday so he knew what was going on and she didn't have to tell the story all over again, so they hooked her up to a IV and gave her some Soloumedrol and Pepcid and something else that I can't spell ( and spellcheck here doesn't work very well), and they had given her a couple of prescriptions again for Predinsone and she is supposed to go back to the ER on Friday for a recheck since the doctor is on vacation. She said that the itching is driving her crazy and she is scratching all the time and I am yelling at her to stop scratching. Today has been a busy day for me, I have done all the laundry and then emptied the dishwasher and even cleaned the birdcage. I know that sounds like a lot but it isn't. Doing laundry I sit and fold clothes and transferring from washer and dryer is not that hard I just stand up against the washer and throw the stuff in the dryer and when the dryer is thru I sit in the chair and fold and leave them onto of the dryer and Mom brings them in the house and put theirs away and puts mine in my chair and put them away. Cleaning the bird cage is all sitting on the floor so it is not that hard. The hardest part is getting up into my chair from the floor but I have that down to a science. Sometimes I have to have someone help me get up but usually, I can do it. The bird drives me nuts when there is no one here but me because she will squawk the whole time that Mom and Dad are gone. When she squawks the dog howls to shut her up and it doesn't matter if I am in my room or not she will squawk for someone to come in the living room to sit with her. Dad has spoiled her and now whenever he gets up to og in the kitchen or his bathroom she will squawk unitl she comes back and sits in her chair. He will squirt her with water to shut her up and that doesn't work anymore so we yell at her to "shut up" and she will yell it back to us. She will talk at times but mostly it is squawking and it is so loud. I can go outside to the mailbox and hear her yelling nthen Boots will start howling. It was funny the first time that I ever heard it and now it is to shut up the bird (Missy), when Missy squawks Boots howls a little louder and louder to drown out the bird an sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.
Mom went to get her prescriptions filled so she can take the Predinose in the morning and hopefully the welts will stop and she can stop itching and scratching all the time

Mom has the Blotches again!!!!!!

Mom still having the breakouts of the hives today. She went to the hospital on Friday and she was given shots that seemed to clear things up and then on Saturday evening while we were in the restraunt eating dinner she started looking very pale and she broke out in the hives again but this time is wasn't very bad and they seemed to fade as fast as they came. She said they were itching again and the Benadryl wasn't working that well at the time and she was scratching and I was yelling at her not to scratch. Role Reversal--she is the kid with the chicken pox and I am the parent yelling "Don't scratch", but she still does it. This morning she got up and when she brought the paper in she had the alcohol and cottonballs in her hand and wanted me to wipe her back, butt and legs down and they are back!!!! They don't look like the way they did on Friday but they are red and raised and they fade in a hour or so and at least they don't look like diaper rash like they did on Friday. I asked her if she was going to call the doctor and she is still upset about Friday when she called and they told her that he was all booked up and couldn't see her and that made her mad as a wet hen (as she used to tell me when I was little). I told her to get over it and let it go and just call him and see if she could get in today to see him and get something for the hives and the itching. I told her that she might have to have IV medicines and she doesnt want that because she can't start her own IV and there is no way that I can start one on her, her veins are so tiny that when she was in the ER, they had to use a baby needle to start hers on Friday. Thank the good lord that I don't have to go the pain of someone trying to find a vein on me, I have a single lumen port that was put in when I was going through all the stomach problems that had me in the hosiptal once or twice a month for 4 months and they finally found out what was and still wrong with me, besides having a Hitatel hernia, I have what is called Gastropersis ( stomach is paralyzed) which is that the food that I eat doesn't move along like it supposed to and it takes my stomach at least twice the amount of time to empty. It is suposed to take 2 hours to empty and regular meal mine takes at least 4 hours if not more depending on what I eat. Anyway Mom is stalling calling the doctor now, she says that they are getting better and they are not as bad now so she is going to wait and see, they are just as bad now as they were, they have not gone down this time and I am going to harp on her utnil she calls the doctor and see what he says to do and then I will stop bugging her about it.
Time to go do laundry and will update about Mom later!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for reading and come back soon, Have a great Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Things are back to normal here

Well things around here have gotten back to normal. Mom is feeling somewhat better and Dad is doing the same thig that he always does sit in his chair and sleep and watch TV, he is sleeping now and so is Mom. I have been up since 4:30 this morning and I am still awake, but those two are sleeping away the day and then complain that they are so tired. I wish that I could lay down and take a nap but I cna't because if I do I will be so tired and uncomfortable that I might as well stay in the bed for the rest of the day. When I first came home form the rehab center I would usually lay on the bed and watch TV but as the healing process went along it became more and more uncomfortable to lay all day in the bed so that is when I started scrapbooking again. I had started when I first came home and then I thought that I was not very good at it and I stopped but then a friend got me a subscription to a monthly scrapbook kit and I started to do some things but was not really into until I found KitNKaboodles on the web and ordered their kit and thenI really started getting into with the help of the message boards that is on there and all the wonderful ladies there. they give inspiration to rveryone and they are so supportive of you. I have done more in the last 3 months than I have the entire time that I have been hurt. I also have done alot more cards than before and I really enjoy making cards for family and friends.
I finally got a picture of the finished KNK ATC Swap board that I started and couldn't finish it because I didn't have any mini clothespins but I ordered them and they have come. They are hanging like a clothes line. I put each card in a 3x4 bag an closed it and put an eyelet in the top of the bag and threaded ribbon through it and tied it and then put it on the line with the mini clothespin. Now I have to find a place to put it above my desk so I can look at it all the time. I also have gotten new papers that I have wanted for a long tiem and now they are coming in a kit that I am getting in April from KNK but you can never have enough papers for BasicGrey. That is my favorite line and the next favorite line is from Crate Paper.
Here is the paper and stuff that I have gotten recently

So that is all for today!
